dumb problem.
dumb problem. Okay, I finished my tsp true dual install about a month ago and I ran into a problem while doing it. The old h-pipe that was on there was u-clamped to the header collectors and bent the exhaust in. Beings it was my daily driver and my car was down for 2 days as it was I got tired of messing with it and just cut it all off basically flush with it, now for my dilemma.
I plan on going FI within a few months and was wondering are these little rings from the old exhaust going to have a significant affect in any power beings that it is right at the collectors? I was thinking of bringing my car to a place and have them heat it up and take it out.
Also I was thinking about just installing 1 3/4" headers when I go to do the install, but whoever I bought the car from with the current headers did not use stainless header bolts. I am afraid of one to break off in the head, and do not want to get into that big mess. I still have plenty of time to think about all this but would like to get some imput from you guys.

Did you cut any of the collector off? You could take the headers out and have a exhaust shop flare out the dent from the U clamps . You could also have them coated while there out as well. As far as power loss as long as you dont have a leak (witch wouldn't cause a loss of power) or messed up front 02's you'll be fine. For the header bolts spray with pb blaster the night before you decide to take them off should be fine, and going FI in the future you'll be removing the heads at some point--trust me. Good luck.
