Crazy Idea I have... This has probably already been done but it just got it my head so here goes nothing...
MAC headers seem like a good bang for the buck header. Since I like in Baltimore Co, I have to get emissions tested every few years. The MAC's are a lot cheaper with the OR pipe then with the Cat pipe. Plus I hear that MAC cat's suck anyway. I was wondering if I could modify a MAC off road pipe for cats and have the ability to drop them out like FLP's?

Re: Crazy Idea I have... Sure, you could do it so long as you could get some connections like the FLP's have. I have been told that some Ford trucks used clamps like the FLP's, so maybe they'll also have the connections to weld on??? You can also check with FLP, but I don't know if they'll sell you just those pieces. You might also check with your local exhaust shop if you know of a really good one.

Re: Crazy Idea I have... I've already done this, as well as lots of other people. I took my car to Mufflex and had them weld in two Carsound 3" cats. Then I had them cut the Y pipe on both sides and fashion a interchangeable race pipes to be inserted in its place.
They use those triagle shaped muffler flanges and it bolts right in. Then all you have to do is put in the race pipes and screw in the O2 sensors. They custom fabricated everything for me right at Muffles. Just talk to Denny, he is the owner.
They did a great job and the Carsound cats are supposed to be the best flowing on the market.
