Default Re-routed pass. wire harness this weekend.

Luckily, the wires inside the harness were not melted from the original slp lt install I did about 1 month ago. That wire harness was pressed up against one of the header pipes. This past weekend was spent almost entirely underneath my car. (Kinda like it down there!). Instead of routing all of the wires in one large harness, I used two small (1/4") plastic wire looms. One harness was routed through a small "notch" or ledge underneath some of the a/c tubes. This loom contained the O2 sensor and the crank position sensor. I also ran that wire loom behind some of the tin flashing inorder to prevent the loom from coming in contact with the pipe. The other harness witch contained the oil level sensor (i think) and the ground for the starter, was tied to the dipstick tube. That was the only solution for me to avoid touching the pipes. The dipstick tube gets a bit hot, but the orange fire wrap from slp will take care of that. Both looms are at least 1/4" to 1/2" away from any header pipe. Now I don't have to worry. Sorry, don't have any pictures. If anyone has questions, etc. Just post up.

I was able to move my wires out of the way while putting the headers in. I'm sure the area is a little tighter with those headers.

I had to do the same. I routed and spliced all those wires because I had 2 fires, both were from the battery cable. Thats was an easy fix but then I had to rewire that entire harness. I couldn't tell what colors the wires were in some places so when I spliced the O2 sensor wire. well lets put it this way, 2 wires were wrong and I had a 3rd fire, damn O2 wne WOOF if it wasn't so damn scary it would have been funny. Needless to say I had O2 sims so I just moved that one to the back and everything was okie dokie. I have pics with little diagrams of when I did mine and where I routed them Email me at dtiffany@swbell.net and I will send them to you. Other than that is was all fun <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />

Man, glad I went with FLPs, the harness isn't even close to the header. I tie-wrapped it to the fenderwell anyway, just to be sure, but there's at least 3 inches of air between the header tubes and any wiring. The closest anything is to the headers is on the driverside, the O2 wiring is run along the crossmember and at one point is only about 2 inches away.
