Re: Random Tech vs. Hooker exhaust Did you consider just swapping your muffler? I got the Hooker AeroChamber and I am very happy. Much cheaper than a whole cat back. A performance y-pipe would be a good compliement to it also.

Both flow very well. The Random Tech. will be louder, with a real in your face sound. The Hooker is slightly more mellow with a much more tuned sound. The Hooker will sound much better without cats, and it's not a raspy catback like the Random...
If your brother is planning on removing the cats sooner or later, I would DEFINATELY go with the Hooker. The sound of that catback without cats is the best sounding combo for an LS1 IMO....

Re: Random Tech vs. Hooker exhaust the hooker is too mellow for me, my rt is with longtubes and offroad and the hooker i installed was also offroad longubes and it is just too dang quiet for me.
