Default Check this out....input please

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tem=1842442004

This is what I was afraid of :frust: . I bought the SLP version ($30).....will this be the eventual outcome (burning holes in my pistons) . I plan on keeping the Hawk for awhile. Inquiring minds WANT TO KNOW!

I have the trottle body by-pass (BMR-$12) and was going to remove it (it looks cheesey and I really can't see it giving any gains). Will it warp plates in my trottle body? Inquiring minds WANT TO KNOW!

Thanks!

TBB is a good mod. you'll be fine....if you can live with yourself after spending $15 on what you could have done with two clamps and a piece of metal pipe...or just one long hose.[/QB][/QUOTE]

What is SO good about it? I don't drive the car in the Winter, so I don't need it warming my fuel. $15(I guess you included shipping) is a half of a tank of Sunoco Ultra 94. Or I paid over $30K for my car so I not going to hang myself because I spent $15

If you don't drive your car in the winter, then this is defiantly a mod that you should be interested in. Typically GM has this there to warm the intake charge on cold days. Unfortunately, during the summer months the only thing that the throttle body warming serves is to overheat the intake charge. This is bad. The warmer the intake charge, the more possibility that you are going to detonate (very bad, not good for your car). I doubt that this is a 'HP' mod, but for most of us who face detonation and knock retard problems as it is, the cooler the intake charge the better.

Nobody on this board is trying to Hang you.

It is your car though, so do with it what you feel comfortable doing.

man, i bought the tbb from BMR and i feel like such a jackass. i'll probably just replace it with a single hose and re-connect the hoses in winter. btw, is it an issue for the tbb to be hanging on the idler pulley? it doesn't look like it will snag on anything, but i'm paranoid.

I'm taking it easy, but I spent the $12-15 for the TBB and this guy tells me I hope I can live with myself after spending the money....sorry I'm not a mech.
Also I'd spend $30 just not to go to the Home Depot for hoses and clamps
