Default LT1 caprice hesitation problem

my caprice is having a little hesitation problem, only on startup after sitting for a long time (like in the mornings). ill leave the house, and it will feel like the engine is flooding/not getting enough gas, or something. theres just no power and it almost dies. its fine a couple blocks down the street though. and its fine when i come home for lunch 4 hours later. someone mentioned the EGR, but i dont think thats it. i think its fuel related because it only does it after it sits for a while. other than that, it runs like a champ. anyone have any ideas?

what year is it? How many miles? Stock coil and Opti? Stock Plugs? Have you changed the plugs? How did they look? Do you have access to a scan tool?

There's a TSB on the EGR and they replace it for free so you should do that anyway 'cause if it's not bad now it will be!

the EGR is VERY loud on startup. i can hear it clicking as i go down the street.

it is a 94 with 93K miles. i dont know whats done. it was a village car for 80K, and a mechanic owned it for the next 10K. ive been meaning to get new plugs and wires though...however, i dont think thats the problem since it does it only when its been sitting for a while and not all the time

brought it to the track today and it ran a best of 15.1@91 on a 2.2

it started doing the hesitation later on in the day AT the track. and again on the way home . im wondering if its something like the FPR.
