O2 harness is fried Ok, I managed to fry one of my O2 extension harnesses on my Hooker LTs. My question is can I repair it or do I need a new one. I ask this because since these things measure resistance, and by splicing/sodering I didn't know if that would screw with the numbers at all. Now, can I use some damn heat wrap to prevent this from happening again??
Re: O2 harness is fried As long as you're replacing the wire just extend the wiring a little so it's not so close to the header and secure it. Heat shield wrap and nylon pullties would probably work well. Make sure to make good solder connections so they don't affect the impedance. If you wanted to you could even test your solder job with an ohmmeter by checking with a probe on both sides, a good solder connection should be very close to 0 ohms on a copper wire. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />
