Starter is fried after 3 months! WTF!
Starter is fried after 3 months! WTF! Has anyone had any problems with their starter?
I have a 02 Z-28 and I took it in for it's first oil change(mobile 1)and while I'm waiting the tech. comes out and tells me my car won't start!
WTF! At first they said it was the battery, then they ran a charge and said it's my starter. I'm not saying things can't go wrong it is a mechanical part, but things just seem kinda fishy.
The tech changing my oil seemed pretty young(not that I'm old)and I'm just wondering if he screwed something up. And to top it off this happened Friday afternoon, so not only did they not have the part(so they claim) but I've been in a rental car for the whole weekend, and I won't get it back until this afternoon. Sorry if I sound like an a$$, but I just don't like my car sitting up somewhere all weekend that I'm not familar with.
Anyway back to the original question. Any 02 owners have problems with their starter? Any info would be great.

Re: Starter is fried after 3 months! WTF! If the kid screwed up the starter changing the oil then he needs to be slapped. There is no way you can do that. This sounds odd to me. I know that the positive from the battery runs close to some exhaust pipes. Maybee the heat got to it?? Water is also a poss.
