Quick oil question Hey guys I am ordering my red line oil now, I am getting 10W30, that should be good right?
Anyway my real question is I am ordering a case of red line (12quarts) I plan on changing every 8,000 miles, is it bad for the oil to be sitting around for about 10 months until the 2nd batch goes in? <img border="0" title="" alt="[Confused]" src="images/icons/confused.gif" />

Re: Quick oil question Extended drain intervals such as 8000 miles are certainly do-able with Redline and 10W-30 is your best all-around viscosity choice IMO. I would however recommend doing oil analyses along the way in order to see how your oil is holding up before just assuming that 8000 miles is the way to go.

Re: Quick oil question I think it will be fine that the oil will sit for a few months, but....
1) why redline, I know it is good. But it is also really expensive.
2) why change every 8000 miles. Redline is a good oil but I would change it sooner than that.
