Default Porting Holley Intake??

I took some pictures of a holley intake we happen to have at the shop and was wondering if anyone has had any experience porting these? Would cutting the ridge off on the inside of the intake on each runner be worth any gains? I could see a little top end gain because it would shorten the runner length a little.

Any other ideas or comments?

Sean,

Are you going to direct port that manifold for nitrous? I have the same manifold on my car and was wondering about direct porting it.

P.S, ask Harlan about what he did with the runners on his manifold, he did some work on his for a twin turbo application.

I am going to spend a little more time testing out the NX MAF before I go with a direct port kit on my car. This intake can have a direct port installed on it just as easy an LS1/LS6 intake though.

I got mine today too. First on my agenda is to find a 90 degree grinder so that I can reach all the ports to smooth the inlets. Lots of casting flash in there, especially around those inlet edges.
