Are GROTYOHANN headers stainless steel?

Re: Are GROTYOHANN headers stainless steel? try puting a magnet on it. If it does not stick then you have a 3 series stainless steel- ex. 316, 304, etc... If it does stick (most likely) then you have either 409 stainless steel or mild carbon steel. SLP uses 409 series stainless for their headers, but 409 is not what the general public commonly thinks of when refering to stainless. 3 series stainless has the high nickel content along with chrome and little moly- this keeping it from rusting and making it oh so pretty silver. 409 doesn't have the high nickel content thus keeping the cost down, but does have a relatively high chrome content alowing to be called "stainless".
All that being said, I would assume that even though Grotts are top notch headers, I doubt they spent the money for a 3 series stainless steel and would see no need for it. But the high temps seen in a perfomance engine use would call for a high chrome content to strenghten the material at elevated temperatures. So I would assume that the Grotts are probably similar to the SLP's and fabricated of 409 SS and then ceramic coated.
Try to get ahold of the manufacturer and find out for sure. If it is in fact 409 SS you can MIG weld it with 409 wire. Oh yeah- you might want to preheat it a little before welding to prevent further cracking. Good luck.
