A/C Out!
Ok I know Im a newb when it comes to WORK on my car. Im trying to take my A/C out. I got rid of everything but condenser. There should be some line connected to it from the bottom but I am not sure which one it is. Also something still holds the condenser, perhaps its that line. And.. I have to take the belts off right ? So after I take it off do I need smaller belt or what ? Newb here!

If you get under your car you can see where the lines run into the bottom of the condenser. I'm pretty sure all the lines, top and bottom, are on the passenger side of the condenser. You can take the ac belt off without replacing anything and then the compressor and bracket just unbolt.

Ok It is done. Took A/C condenser out, that little canister and pipes. Isnt there a pump too somewhere ?
About cutting the belt..thats a good idea! I dont need it anyway.

I think the pump you're talking about is the compressor which is what your ac belt runs to. That was the main thing I was concentrating on getting out since that thing weighs like 20 lbs. Also, I don't know why you would want to cut the belt, just push down on the tensioner pulley and it should slide right off, mine did anyway.

Heh well car has a lot more room there now. Perfect to fit some custom ram air
Now... about that compressor..where is it at ? Anything I should know about b4 taking it out ?

Ok so move the tensioner and take the belt off. This is the belt I want totally out then ? And it goes to the compressor that I want to take out as well right ?

Legally you're supposed to have someone vacuum out the freon but its much cheaper and faster to just undo the passenger side connection to the condenser and then just start taking stuff off. You want to take off the condenser(bottom passenger side of motor), the compressor and pulley bracket, the condenser(sits in front of the radiator, all the ac lines and of course the belt(its the short skinny one). I'd also recommend plugging up the two holes that go into the black box on the firewall in the back of the engine bay so that nothing gets in there, I forgot to do that . That's all I did, if I did anything wrong I'm sure someone will chime in and let me know.

Alright. Thats me again. About to start working on my car. So before I take anything out let me make sure.
The A/c compressor is that one with pulley. Standing in front of the car facing it, the compressor is on the left bottom ? And the belt I have to ged rid of it that tiny one right ?

I cut the belt off my car too with a pair of wire cutters. If you don't cut it you will also have to remove the main serpentine belt as well. It's also no big deal but it is quicker and easier just to cut the a/c belt because I won't be using it ever again. Also when you take the compressor off you can also remove the bracket that it is bolted too which holds the tensioner and idler pulley for the a/c. MAKE SURE ALL BOLTS ARE REMOVED BEFORE YOU TRY TO TAKE THESE PARTS OFF. It wouldn't take much to crack or break something in there when torqueing on something that still has a hidden bolt threaded in there. Good luck. It's not all that hard though. Just take your time.
