is fuel injector cleaning recommended I'm running 91 octane chevron. dealer says injectors should be cleaned at 15,000 miles.Is this correct? also fuel filter at 12,000 miles

Re: is fuel injector cleaning recommended You mean pull the injectors and clean them? Couldn't hurt but sounds like they want to pick up some extra $$. I've never had mine cleaned at 55K miles, just add the cleaner to the gas occasionally.
Fuel filter change sounds good.
I like to change my trans fluid about every 15K miles, first change in that range for sure.

Re: is fuel injector cleaning recommended There's a product called "BG".It's a three part process.One you pour into the gas tank.Another goes into the fuel rail schrader under pressure.A third is fogged down the intake through the throttle body.Most places charge in the $ 140 range for the service.It not only cleans out the injectors,it also cleans the top of the engine.I just had this performed & I'm going to autotap the car & see if the knock retard issue is fixed.

I have personally used it in the past with good results when the fuel systems were suspect in drivability issues. might be a good idea as a preventive maintenance item if you get a lot of crappy gas where you live. or worse yet, water fouling everything up, like in the winter.
