Need info on how to get to the ignition tumbler and switch.

Need info on how to get to the ignition tumbler and switch. I need to get to the tumbler and try to solder a wire back to a contact according to another board member.
So, how do I get the tumbler out? How can I avoid setting off the airbag? Has anyone ever worked on the tumbler or ignition switch?
I would greatly appreciate any feedback, I plan on doing this on saturday.

From what I saw the airbag circuit is not plugged into the ignition switch. I have the column out in my garage and will take a closer look at it tonight or tomorrow to give you a better idea.
