Dunno if 2000's came with EGR or not. AIR fittings might be in a different location..

You could probably use them as race headers at the very least and just get blockplates for the AIR fittings and EGR fittings if they're on there..

If he got headers with emissions fittings, they'll probably still bolt on to the motor with no problems at all. Like I said though, I know the 2001-2002 ls1's didn't have EGR on them, so at the very least you're going to need EGR blockoff plates for the headers if they have EGR fittings. Not sure if the 2000 headers have the same AIR fitting locations that an '02 has, so you may either have to do some bending/stretching to use your AIR system, or just go ahead and remove the AIR system together and get some blockoff plates for that too.

Find out if he got 2000 style headers, or if he got offroad or race style headers. The only difference would be that 2000 style headers will have hookups for whatever emissions equipment a 2000 came with, while race headers will not have any emissions provisions on them at all.

Yes, the 98-00 LT headers will work. You'll just need to get an EGR block-off plate for them. Don't know if they do emissions testing where you live, but if they don't I'd go ahead and get the AIR block-off plates too and remove all of that stuff when you do the headers. You'll need to get the AIR codes tuned out.
