Porting cast iron manifolds
I have a set of 2001 manifolds that I want to port out. I don't have any air tools so I'm going to use a dremel tool.
Any recommendations on bits I could use? I tried a silicone carbide grinding stone bit but that lasted about 1/2 through one of the primaries. I found a set of Olson carbide bits on Sears' website. Would these work? It's like $60 for the set so I don't wanna wreck them.

Re: Porting cast iron manifolds
There is a company called "Cylinder Head Abrasives" in Rancho Cordova, CA. They have a huge selection of solid carbide porting tools. I can't remember their phone #, try this website www.ruffstuff.com/ Cylinder Head Abrasives
Also, have the inside of the manifolds hot tanked and sandblasted before you start grinding. You will get much more tool life from the carbide burrs.
Good luck,
