Default Gauges

Hey guys.

I plan on getting:

Autometer Oil Pressure
Autometer Oil Temp
Autometer Fuel Pressure

Do you guys know if autometer makes easy bolt in senders for our cars, or do we have to drill, and do all sorts of nasty stuff to get this working?

Anyone have these gauges? Where did you put the senders for each?

Thanks!! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />

I just put the new Autometer fuel gauge in and it was a breeze. You need to go buy a couple fittings to get it to the rail - a -4 to 1/8 npt and a 1/8 npt male to male adapter (nobody had a -4 to 1/8 npt female). The sensor on the rail has a harness that plugs right into the back of the gauge. you just have to find power and ground somewhere under the dash. To get it through the firewall, you can use that grommet under the ECM (but you will have to cut the autometer harness to make it longer), but instead I just drilled a small hole, popped the pins out of the plug, and fished it through (with a grommet of course). The gauge comes with a big grommet and tells you to "drill a one inch hole"! (I'll just grab my one inch drill bit...)

Make sure you get the new autometer gauge. The old fuel pressure has an intermediate sending unit that they have gotten rid of for the new one. The new one is as fast as my buddy's with a live gauge, too.

Hope that helps!
