Jet hot headers Did anyone hear anything bad about the Jet hot coated headers? Anyone install them and have any clearance problems? I am looking to buy some for a 98 Ls1. I have jet hots. They are great headers. They are a little harder to put in that others, but it is nothing major. I had to take my steering linkage loose and I also had to grind on the k-member a little.
I bought my set of Jet-Hots from a sponsor for $500+ shipping and did the install myself. There isn't a lot of clearance to get at the header bolts for any longtube install, but once you get the old exhaust off the headers just slip right on up from the bottom. I had to remove the oil diverter on the driver's side but the rest of the install was a piece of cake and I thought it was going to be a pain in the ***. Just make sure to set aside a weekend for the install because it is better to call it quits and come back the next day than work when you're pissed off. Get the car up as high as you possibly can and the install is easier. Just be safe though. Oh yeah, be sure to start it up with open headers. That will be sure to put a smile on your face after the install.
Jet Hots are great and I love them, here on mine on a 98 z/28 so enjoy, by the way remove the oil breather tube it will make life a whole lot easier:

Installed mine by myself with no problems. Passenger side slipped right in from the bottom and driver's side require grinding a very small amount off the block casting tab. Other than that easy install.
