Re: very Lean air/fuel question Actually, I think that the opposite would happen. If one cylinder was not firing, the un-combusted air would read on the 02 sensor as excess oxygen. This would tell the computer that there is too much air being introduced into the combustion equation and fuel would be added accordingly.
HOWEVER, our PCMs are pretty damn smart and may compensate for the misfire.
I assume that your car is running lean to begin with, and your #7 plug is black from incomplete combustion. Without the misfire, I think your #7 plug would be white as well.

Re: very Lean air/fuel question The plugs were just changed first thing as this occured thinking they were the cause of the missfire but no change, anyways the plugs looked light tan prior to the new missfire problem.. so i think the car isnt lean though.
any more ideas?

very Lean air/fuel question Ok i have a missfire on #7, my question is the plug is dark, but the rest are very white. whats causes this? Does the computer see a rich air/fuel at the o2 on that side and lean it out and make the remaining cylinders too lean hence the white plugs????
