Re: mufflex The soundclips of that LS1 Z28 on Mufflex's website sound very bassy. I've heard it has the lowest(deepest) tone on an LS1 because of the larger piping. The Flowmaster is louder/deeper while the Spintech is a little quieter/higher-pitched. Either way, both sound great.
I've also heard that the flow is not that great for 3.5" to 4" piping. Also, the system is very heavy(aluminzed steel) and very ugly IMHO.
Maybe somebody hear has it or has heard it in person...

Re: mufflex I had the 4" with the spintech installed and indeed it is very bassy. I like it because there is no rasp and its not obnoxiously loud like others. On the other hand, I still have stock headers and ypipe but I dont think it would get much louder.

Re: mufflex My 3.5/Flowmaster had a shipping weight of 60 lbs I think? Thats not really as heavy as you'd think compared to a Borla.

Re: mufflex The mufflex 4" is the cure for a slp loudmouths rasp. I heard a cam car with a 4" mufflex dual and it made me go buy one. Trust me you cant go wrong. If you cut open a spintech and a flowmaster dual style muffler, you'll see why mufflex uses a spintech.its simply a better muffler. I have this with hooker LT's and a mufflx y-pipe built to go from a hooker to a 4". Dont waste your time talking about.... go get it.

Re: mufflex I had a 4" single outlet on my 98 Z. If you dont have cats it is VERY Raspy. I went back to my stock catback because I got too old <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />
The Spintech is actually deeper than the Flowmaster. The Flow has that signature pinging sound. If I was younger and didnt care about the neighbors anymore I would go back to the 4".

Re: mufflex I have the 4" Mufflex with dual outlet Spintech installed on my car with Dynatech 1 3/4" headers (no emissions, no cats) and custom y-pipe. The engine is a 382ci monster. I have a pretty mild cam too. Not a day goes by where someone doesn't tell me I have the nicest car they have ever heard. It is a very refined sound, not raspy at all. Very deep, bassy. Awesome sound at idle, even with the mild cam. Rolls of the line great even with low throttle driving. But when I open it up, watch out, this exhaust screams like a damn Nascar. I love the 4" system. The only problem is fitment, especially since my car is lowered and I have ALL of the suspension goodies. It takes a while to tweak it in well but once you get it there you won't be disappointed. Well worth the money. Note though, if you do get this system make sure you get the weld-on collectors and have a competent exhaust shop do the install.

Re: mufflex nope its false.... go to the mufflex website and look at the FAQ's and they show dyno results of a stock camaro w/ 4" and it picked up hp and tq everywhere.
