Alright, problems lately on my 01 SS are the thing eats oil like crazy... nothing new. But I took the intake and MAF off the other day to find the MAF and TB, as well as the accordian and lid soaked in oil. The MAF sensors were covered in oil as well as dirt. So I carefully cleaned them out and found out that the oil is POURING in through the PCV system and breathers. From a recommandation of a friend I removed the entire PCV system, blocked the holes and put breathers on each valve cover... As I go down the street for a test run I give it a WOT run ral quick, SES light starts flashing and wont stop... In addition the engine is idling choppy and there is a power loss. I got out of the car with the hood open and blipped the throttle a few times from the TB and smoke was POURING out both breathers, covering the bay and coming out fast. I hook it back up the best I can which is tough in the little time I had before I got off work and it is still throwing up the SES all the time. No knocks, no pings, doesnt sound like I just happened to lose a rod or anything... Any ideas before I try to take it in to the dealership? There is no warranty, im over miles. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Sad]" src="gr_sad.gif" />

If you're blowing oil out of the breathers like crazy, you got some problems. Maybe lost a ring or two? You need to have some serious crankcase pressure to be doing that. Crankcase pressure generally comes from blowby, but you shouldn't have THAT much blowby, not even close in fact.

On an off chance - how much oil is in the car? If you overfilled it a large amount it might cause similar problems (so much oil in the heads that it's actually overflowing), but then again I think you'd have other serious side effects from this.

Update... ripped all the PCV stuff off AGAIN, sprayed the MAF with some electrical component cleaner, now the SES light is solid instead of constantly flashing. When the PCV first came off it was around 65-80 PSI at all times, after driving for a bit its now around the usuall 35-55 PSI. BTW when I cleaned the MAF there was already a pool of oil from driving only 15 minutes sitting in the TB... Still stuttering throughout the powerband though, car feels as though it has a cam in it at idle.

Another update... Codes P0102 and P0305 were found when I scanned it. Thats cylinder #5 misfire and MAF low voltage, so I believe maybe the MAF is causing the misfires and idling problems? Please let me know!
