Noise in engine bay!!! Hello everyone. I know this is not a very complex matter but it's anoying as heck. I can hear a squeek at idle or at any stop I make when driving. I can hear the sound loudest coming from under the the font bumber when the hood is closed. When the hood is open it sounds like one of the pullies, but cant see any that look shaky or loose. I tried a little bit of wax under the belt but on results, also tried lubbeing the belt still nothing. Can it be the water pump??? Please help, I hate pulling up next to some P.O.S stang with my car sounding like crap. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Mad]" src="gr_images/icons/mad.gif" />

Re: Noise in engine bay!!! LOL... I used to have a sound like that on an former car, but it was the belts. I just sprayed them with WD40 and it would go away for a couple days <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />
If it’s not the belt, then maybe bearings going out on one of the accessory pulleys?
Does it do this even when cold? Does the sound ever come and go? Jusr thinking tha maybe the fans are the issue if it's only doing it when hot...

Re: Noise in engine bay!!! Dont spray wd40 on your belts, it dosent help and shortens the life of the belt. They sell belt dressing is that what ur supposed to use if you think its your belts squeeking and still good. try changing your belt (cheap and a wear item) and if thats not it, try what rpm said and check if its an actually pulley.

Re: Noise in engine bay!!! The sound comes and goes, hot or cold. You may be right about the access pullies, looks like I'm going to dissect the belt set up. Neone have any other suggestions?
