Open cutout and no cats could be getting to a point where you damage hearing for very young kids. The dB level has to be pretty high in the back seat.

Would be another vote for magnaflow or SLP dual/dual if you really need quiet.

I've got the GMMG on stock manifolds (headers will be here tomorrow), and I can give you some ideas of the interior sound of the car. As it sounds right now, I think it is totally acceptable on the inside. Very quiet and tame with a nice sounding hum, no resonance. I'm also keeping cats on the headers which should help equalize the sound a bit and cut the rasp... That being said, it's still going to be a lot louder once they're on.

SLP dual/dual and magnaflow are great flowing catbacks with quiet volumes at part throttle.

im surprised no one has mentioned corsa or borla. i dont have either on me car, but they are both very tame when crusing around , and really wake up when you get on it.

You can't go wrong with the Hooker catback, especially for the price. Plus it's probably the best flowing catback for our cars save for maybe the Loudmouth which is basically straight pipes with a resonator or an LMII which has a Bullet muffler.

Get the hooker. My daughter is only 2yrs old & she likes it. She knows when she hears daddy's car. She even likes to sit in my lap in the driveway & act like she is steering & tells me "give gas daddy". LOL Its really quiet inside the car, not much more than stock. But outside you will know the difference. Heck my daughter still falls asleep in the back seat, even with the cats removed.

Maybe I should have made this a poll. Hooker's in the lead so far.

if you want somthing nice but not loud, hooker or a magnaflow are your best bet, but i would still give it to the Hooker. If you want to step it up to somthing louder and deeper then the GMMG gets my vote, but for the price you can't bet the hooker.

I've drivin in a car with a magnaflow, my dad owns a hooker, and i have a GMMG. I always forget how loud my car is untill i drive in my dads car, you can barley hear it at cruise but has a real nice tone at wot. The magnaflow is a bit louder then the hooker but i dont think it has as nice of a tone as the hooker does, buts its all personal preference. I wouldn't trade my GMMG, with my LT's for anything

get an edelbrock catback std system. sounds verrrrry deep and is tame. a true v8 sound. and its also not one of those exhaust that screams incredibly loud at WOT. its all around a good sounding exhaust that wont blow your ears out when you throw on headers/ y pipe.

Man I love this, these kids who like the deep sound of a muscle car. My 4 year old nephew LOVED my Mustang, he would hear me coming from a block down and would always say "Uncle T is here", just like one of the guys on here I would let him sit in it and give it gas...neighbors didn't care much for it but too bad for them...the kiddies come first

The Slp loudmouth is a good sound. But when I would have my friends in the back seat, they could hardly communicate with me, always asking me to speak up.

Just take the backseat out and you wont have that problem anymore.

Corsa will definately fit your needs! Very tame while crusing and loud when you romp on it!

Definitely the Hooker. Quiet while cruising, loud and refined at WOT.
