how to paint ls6 intake? I have been seeing painted (red) ls6 intakes online and in the new pontiac magazine.
I really want to paint mine when I order it.
What type of paint to use?
sand it?
will paint last on it?
pics of painted intakes?

intake off the car, mask the tb and intake ports along with the map sensor in back.
make sure it is clean (not dirty or oily if used
white non sanding primer first
flame red plasti-kote from p-boys
let dry and that is it.

Re: how to paint ls6 intake? I am going to let the secret out now. O'Reilly has a new high-temp paint called Metal Cast that comes in annodized blue and red. On a non-billet application you have to paint on a "ground" coat to get the "annodized" look. Pretty cool stuff and matches well with my MBA covers/caps. When I did my cam swap I painted my valve covers with it and turned out great. Mark at Raging did the swap for me and also thought it looked good. I am getting ready to do my intake swap and plan on painting it with the blue. When I get the project complete I will post pics. I most likely will paint the TB also. Paint the fuel rails?....dunno.
