Default FLP header install help.

Anybody have any tips or sites that they can share. I didn't even start yet and already screwed up. Aren't you supposed to start with the car on the ground and disconnect the AIR and EGR stuff? Then remove the plugs. Well of course I realized this after I had the thing jacked up and ready to go. It's a '99 if that matters. Didn't type up my sig yet.

If you can still get to everything while its in the air, go ahead and pull it off. If you cant you will have to set it down and do it. when I put mine on my 99 I only had to lift the front end off the ground. Once you get the air and EGR stuff off, pull the plug wires and plugs. Then pull youre Y pipe off, then the cats, then the manifolds. When I installed the FLPs I did find that I had to pull the oil filter off also and barely jack the motor about 1/2 to get the hearder to slip in on the drivers side. Hope this helped.

Thanks. How do you get to the last bolt of the coil pack rail on the passenger side? I'm removing my plugs and want to move the rail to make it easier.

That is a tough bolt to get at. If memory serves me correctly, I used a 1/4" drive ratchet for that one. Had to lay down across battery and do it by feel. A bit of advice, leave those last two bolts off when you re-install the coil pack on the passenger side.

Well I got it loose and am debating wether to take it out or not? Don't know. Gonna have to loosen it more because rail is still in the way.

It's easier to just take it off now and be done with it than to realize later when you're all pissed off cause it's in the way. While you're there go ahead and take off the valve covers too, it's only 4 bolts and you get a little more clearance. I found out the hard way on both of the previous items. I just wouldn't listen.
