Default CAN SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME!!!!

I just installed Hooker LT's and I'm having a custom Y-Pipe made for my car. I bought two cat's but I was wondering if there would be any problems with installing one cat just after where the Y-Pipe merges like in the I-Pipe? Would this be point less or could it be done and not have any problems with it? My exhaust shop said that it would work fine and would probably actually give me more power since the cat's wouldn't be right after the headers restricting flow. Someone help me please. Is this a good setup for the LS1?

Thanks
Joe

I am skeptical as to whether or not it will work.

You will only have half the scrubbing power
I think that the CATS have to be at a high temperature (hence right after the headers) to provide for the most effective scrubbing. Your exhaust gasses may cool down to much through the pipe for your Cat to properly do its work.

Try it though and go get emmissions tested. It would be great for the rest of the LT folks if you can get it to work.
