Catback HP gains????
Catback HP gains???? I am going to install my Hooker LTs and ORP soon, and I am torn about ordering a catback. I will run a cutout at the track, but my question is this: For the street, how much HP and TQ will a catback give me over my stock exhaust. If its only a few HP (3-6), I'll probably run a stock exhaust for now. If its more than that (6-9), I might go ahead and order a catback right away. I am leaning towards the Hooker Catback, or the SLP 2OTL.
So, in a nutshell, how much HP will I lose daily (when the cutout is closed) versus a previously mentioned catback? Thanks, Shawn

Re: Catback HP gains???? I lost 6rwhp through the Hooker catback compared to an open y-pipe. Not much of a loss at all for the as quiet as it is(was). <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />

Re: Catback HP gains???? I got a pretty decent gain from nothing more than a lid and a catback... e-mail me if you want me to send you a copy of the dyno plots for stock/lid only/lid + loudmouth.
Re: Catback HP gains???? i only gained 2 hp from the b&b try flow on my ws.6 6 speed. i would NOT spend the money on a cat back if you have a ws.6 or a ss camaro they come with a slp cat back on them, the onlt thing you will really gain is sound. a cat back will help on standerd modles about 10 to 14 hp.i made nice gains on an asp pulley, massair ends, mac headers,and 4.10's. if you have an auto get a converter. goodluck
