Header install on a shop lift...help!

Header install on a shop lift...help! I'm gonna install my 1 3/4 Grott headers on a shop lift, my question is, how do you do it?? How do you do the bolts from the top? I'm using the lift because it's safe and because I need to get the car HIGH to install these.

Re: Header install on a shop lift...help! I recently helped some friends install some Hooker LTs on their '02 SS using a lift. You should be able to unbolt the old manifolds on the ground and then raise the lift and pull them out. Then, while the car is in the air, slide the new headers up in there. Kind of "wedge" them up in there and lower the lift and bolt them up. Not a bad job if you have a lift and air tools. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />

Re: Header install on a shop lift...help! Its pretty simple I would just unbolt them while the car is on the ground and then install them with the car on the lift.The lift doesnt have to be that high I would have it low enough to where I could install my bolts from the top.

Re: Header install on a shop lift...help! So, take EVERYTHING apart on the ground, lift it up enough to fit the headers under, and bolt it up? Sounds good, I just have trouble imagining if the car is up 3 feet, me being 5'7 being able to reach.
