I'm seriously thinking about getting headers in the future but am inexperienced on the subject. I have a 2002 SS LE with the 345 Hp option and CME.
What is the best set-up to get to gain HP but remain legal?? I have a few dollars to spend but don't want to get too crazy.
Also, I live in Escondido CA. Can anyone recommend a place in the San Diego area to take the car to? Its always "hit and miss" taking the car somewhere you don't know.
Thanks!!

From what I understand, JBA shorty headers and (maybe) Hooker shorty headers are legal in California. For a stock engine they are probably good enough. However, from what I have read, Long-tubes are superior to shorties when they are mated to a heads/cam car. As far as having someone install headers don't do it. Try doing it yourself, it is rather easy. If you perform a search on this board or ls1.com or even yahoo, you will come up with many header installs or you can ask for exact directions and I'm sure someone will have what you need.
