People with fuel sumps

People with fuel sumps What did you use to cut into the tank. A friend said a plasma cutter, but i don't know... something about sparks and fuel vapors <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="gr_eek2.gif" /> I would imagine if you use a cutting wheel, you would need to really clean out the tank good, huh?Also how did you go about making baffles...cutting three square holes? Re: People with fuel sumps 2 1/2" hole saw works wonders. Clean the tank out real good before you install it.

Re: People with fuel sumps I did the same as Harlan did. Used a small hole saw, made several holes, removed the interior plastic baffle, and then had the sump welded over the holes. The remaining metal will keep fuel from leaving the sump, and the holes will allow fuel into the sump.
