Default GReddy catch can installed

First of all I'd like to thank Dope for giving me the idea to do this. Let me just say if you have traction control and EGR, you'll be SOL in finding a good place to put this. I have traction control, so I couldn't mount it where Dope did (behind the battery). Instead I mounted it (using the gay *** bracket I got with it) on the passenger side head where the EGR used to bolt to. Eventually I'll modify the bracket a little better, as it's a little ghetto for my taste. Hopefully this will completely stop any oil from getting into my intake through the PCV system, which has been happening since I first got my car, and got alot worse when I did my heads/cam. After I make sure this works, I'll be running a bottle of GM top end cleaner through the engine and I should be good to go

Take a look

You'll need the 9mm tank and the universal bracket. Oh BTW, mine didn't come with any hardware to mount the bracket to the can. You'll need to buy 8mm-1.25x12mm bolts

hey, good info, but what if you want to mount the catch can to the passenger side head where the egr is?? I dont have one and would like to mount it there and would like to know if that bracket would take me "rigging" it to the head with the 15mm i think size bolt to it i could drill it out for that if it would let me... Good times

Phil, I think once you get the bracket like you want it you'll be very happy with the set up. I'm glad to see guys are starting to use the GReddy catch can, seems like at first guys didn't want to use them because they thought they were rice or cost too much. I have the Cusco on my Prowler because I needed a smaller catch can, after seeing these pics of the GReddy on a LS1 I think I could fab a bracket up so it would look good on my Prowler also.

I reused the bolt that used to mount the EGR assembly to the head, so unfortunately I don't know the correct thread/pitch size for that bolt. The Greddy bracket works fine to mount it there, you just have to angle it funny to get it in the right position, and some of the bracket sticks out from behind in plain sight. Thats the only thing I'm not crazy about, but it can be tweaked.
