Re: OIL??? What is best??? I really don't know **** about oil but I use AMS OIL. I heard that it was suppose to be the best and you can go to 12,000 miles before a change. Thats just what the guy at the store told me though.

Re: OIL??? What is best??? Amsoil is a very good oil, and it was designed to go for long drain intervals too. On their bottles they claim one year or 25k, although that's a rare case where someone can do that. I saw an oil analysis this weekend where someone pushed their oil to 18k and it was in terrible shape, it had no acid neutralizing capability left, and the iron content in the oil was very very high.
Before you go to a long drain interval like that you have to do oil analysis to make sure your engine and your driving habits can handle it. For most new cars though, going over 10k on Amsoil is a piece of cake.
