Default I need some exhaust advice...

I am looking for some feedback regarding the following exhaust system I am planning for my 02 Z28. I currently have a load mouth catback and everything else in my exhaust is stock. I think the load mouth sounds nasty, but after 6 months and half a dozen day long road trips I am looking for something that is a little quieter. After a couple hours of high way cruising I felt like I was beginning to suffer long term hearing damage <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="gr_eek2.gif" /> I have also been pulled over several times just because my car 'sounded' like I was speeding, those of you with LMs will know what I mean.

So, this is what I am thinking... I just ordered FLP LTs along with thier 3" electric cutout. I am planning on putting back the stock catback and when I want to have fun and make some noise I can open the cut out, and when I am want to quiet things down I'll just close the cut out.

Performance wise, how does the cutout compare with the LM? I dynoed before and after I installed the LM and it picked up 10RWHP and 5LB/FT... I wonder if the cutout will give the same results.

And sound wise, how do the FLP LTs with ORPs and a cut out sound?

i read this post on ls1.com and agree with the first response you got saying that you should get a different aftermarket cat back so you'll get full benifits all of headers all the time. of course one of those benefits is better gas mileage. another thing you can do to save money is put a pair of dynomax bullets in the tailpipes as far in front of the tips as possible.

The loud mouth and cutout should dyno about the same.
