Default door screen mod

i posted this on ls1.com and want to let all of you in on it as well.

i've heard many people talking about how they had grass, leafs, and bugs in their air filter cause of fra and ftra.

this is a solution that works.

take an old door screen . cut out a hole a little larger than your airfilter tray. ( about an inch longer and a quarter inch wider) and place under your air filter tray then replace tray and your filter and the rest of your intake and thats it .

of course you will have to clean the screen off regularly but its really easy take you lid and filter and tray out and then remove screen. most of the stuff should brush off and then of course you can spray it with water to force anything else off. and of course you can always get another one for free.

so what do you think?

Yes, I caught that post. I was thinking a while back about putting some screen over the inlet between the condensor and radiator (FRA inlet). Went down to the shed to look for some screen and got into a different project, LOL. It just seemed a better idea to block the debris flow at it's source, rather than block the whole filter. But the screen idea in some implementation should work well.
