Need some help please..... Ok...here is the deal. Today after work I start up my car and it immediately starts making this loud constant "whurring" type sound coming from the engine bay. Car had been sitting all day so the engine was cold. I popped the hood and it was so loud I couldn't pinpoint where it was coming from. Here is what I noticed. If I revved it a little, the sound went away but would come back when the rpms reached idle. The sound went completely away at the exact same time as that emissions air pump that pumps air into the exuast when cold shut off. The sound hasn't returned. I am letting my car sit for a few hours and going to see if it comes back when that pump comes back on. Anyone got any ideas or experienced this? Is that pump about to go out for some reason?
