I read in an old GMhigh tech mag that the random tech added like 20hp/17ftlbs TQ to the rear wheels on a basically STOCK car, which seems higher than every other catback brand. I've never seen dyno numbers on either the 3.5" or 4"mufflex, with either the spintech or flowmaster. Any feedback on RT or Mufflex system much appreciated.
rt user here, i never dynoed mine when the car was stock so i can't tell you gains, but the price is right, the performance is even better, it sounds great, and is probably the lightest catback available as well if you get the aluminized version... so thats 4 thumbs up
I don't know yet but I have a RT catback in the garage.I'll post what I think once I get it on the car.I won't be dynoing though.I can give you a seat of the pants opinion on gains.BTW this muffler has got to flow. You can see straight through the inlet to the outlet.
Yes when I bought my car back in Jan 98 I had the first 98 LS1 around. Being that I live in Loganville Ga where Random Tech is they ask me if I would like to put a system on my car and have it dynoed. I said sure of course so all I did was buy the system they took it to Atlanta Chassis Dyno had a stock baseline run. Next they installed it for free and took it back to the dyno and on the second run I beleive it was a gain of 15hp 17ftlbs tq I was very happy. The car was brand new at the time so I'm not sure if it would have better gains if it had a few more miles on it. If you get it get the stainless teel. Let us know if you get it and what it does to your car I'm gonna get a 2002 and gonna put it one on I'll let you know what the new one does.
I had it for 3 years. Never dynoed it. I'll sell it. PM me if anyone is interested. It was an awesome combination with FLP's.
