Default ls1 or ls6 intake?

how can i tell the difference between an ls1 intake and an ls6 intake? my car was sold to me as an 01 but it was built in late 2000 and im worried i might not have the ls6 intake because i have egr equipment. Is there any way to tell which intake i have without pulling it off?

look at the floor runner. It should be flat if it is an LS6. You can tell without removing it from the car

The bottom of the intake. Look at the bottom of it, between the valley cover and your intake

Go to your car. Stand straight in front of it and bend down as if you are looking right behind the Throttle body.

You should be able to see if the floor of your intake is flat or not from that point of view

Nope, that is for the A.I.R. system. It is used to speed up catalytic converter light off.

EGR has a line running off of ONLY the passenger side manifold to a valve bolted to the passenger side head, to a hole in the intake manifold behind the throttle body.

The similar looking tubes that run from each side, to the pump behind the driver side foglight. That loud *** air blower sound you hear when you start the car up is the AIR pump kicking on. It's use is what Cool Z posted.

dude, did u not read my post? the car was built late 2000 and i saw what i thought was egr equipment which 2001 up cars did not have. why else would i be questioning whether the dealership sold it to me as a 2001 when it could have been a 2000 with different equipment?

Built date has nothing to do with it. Check your VIN:

#12561184 is the LS6 intake part number for 01-02. It is easy to see, it is centered middle of driver side.
