Re: How will a lower temp thermo work with stock PCM? I don't think it should cause any problems, but without turning the fans on earlier you won't see a big difference. I would get a used Hypertech Reprogrammer for your particular car/year. You can buy them used for about $125-$200 and that way you can turn the fans on earlier, but I wouldn't use the power tuning as most people actually lose performance with that crap!

I installed a fan switch. Basically took
wire from pin 43 on blue pcm connector
and spliced another wire through a switch
to ground. This makes the low speed fans come
on.. manually

Re: How will a lower temp thermo work with stock PCM? 14u2nv is definately correct. you may see as much as a 10* drop without any programming, but without turning those fans on earlier...you're not going to see a huge change in running temp. However, i am friends with a guy who put this 160 stat into his 02 bird and there was a very noticable decrease in engine compartment temp.
