there is not room to get your hand in there?

my buddy use to stab his old oil filters in the side with a screwdriver and turned it like that.

Ditto...

Either that or drill it and stick a screw driver in it...

I found a tool a autozone that fits oil filters, looks like a large socket. It can be put on a 3/8" ratchet, and if needed you could add a extension.

The K&N's have a nut on the bottom (?) for removal - for next time. Screwdriver stab works but messy, be careful.

lol i guess the filter gave up when i brutally stabbed it...cause it never shed blood. Kinda surrendered to me. So i got the right angle and it unscrewed by hand. woo hooo. i like the idea of a big socket that goes over the filter i'll have to look for one. THanks for the help guys but this was an easy win for me. filter didnt want none.

speaking of oil filters. have you guys heard of that rediculous oil filter thats like made out of metal and you re use it everytime. You just like run it through the wash or something to clean it. I saw it in some magazine but forgot to write down the website.

That's what I was going to suggest. In the future you could use the K&N filter with the nut welded on it.

I have the pacesetter lt's also and i use a strap wrench, you can purchase a set with 3 different sizes at lowes hardware. They are perfect and I never have a problem getting the filter off. Hope this helps.

Still... you might want the tool to put the new filter back on Now, if you were a Mustang owner I'd KNOW to warn you not to use the same method putting the new one on

i like my K&N because its nice being able to grab it by the nuts.

when you put a new filter back on you should only hand tighten it, you dont need to put it on real tight with a tool.
