Re: How to keep Hooker catback from rusting? go and buy a can of clear engine paint and one can of black engine paint.
Spray the insides of them black( 2 coats) and then spray the outside with clear. It looks bad wet but dries to a nice clean finish. Put however many coats of clear you want. As upkeep then I clean the outside of them with carb cleaner spray.
That's all ya gotta do!

Re: How to keep Hooker catback from rusting? I have the same problem. What about cleaning the inside of the tips really well then painting that with high temp clear coat? I don't want to paint them black inside.

Re: How to keep Hooker catback from rusting? BBQ pit paint can handle very extreme temps.It is flat black though.You could always chop a short piece of the tailpipe off and weld some nice looking polished stainless steel tips.
