has anyone done this? my car definately ran better with the stock maf sensor screen removed. my motor is pretty much stock. mit lid, k&n, soon to be bauer ported tb, and soon to be slp y-pipe, and slp two on the left cat back.
and advice would be great

easy to say not to do, a little harder to explain why not to do it. gm puts these screens on to change the air flow from a turbulent flow to a more laminar flow. just want to see some other peoples experiences with doing this.

Dyno proven 7 hp and 8 tq to pull the screen out on a 2001 SS with only a lid and factory SLP exhaust... however a whole new world of my favorite word "Detonation" came about. Required a MAFT Translator to fix... personally if you dont have a translator I wouldnt do it unless its a cooler state. It gets really hot here in AZ and anyone that touches MAF ends, or the MAF in any way pretty much gets a ton of detonation.
