just got my 2001 SS!!!!!!!
just got my 2001 SS!!!!!!! I traded my 98 z28 for a 2001 SS!! Man do the stock SS muffler suck. I am looking at to putting on a Dynomax muffler or a Magnaflow muffler. What u guys think? I like the flowmaster sound but thats all it is. So i havent even really tested my 2001 SS out. Will i tell a big difference with a lid, fra, and muffler on my 2001 then my 1998 z??

Re: just got my 2001 SS!!!!!!! I have a Hooker AeroChamber 2 1/2"in dual 2 1/4" out. Im pretty happy with it. Dynomax is an equivalent. Great sound and flow. I kept my stock tips.
How loud is it? The last cop who pulled me asked me if my exhaust is legal....so I guess thats a good indication its loud enough. <img border="0" alt="[Fluffy]" title="" src="graemlins/fluffy.gif" />

Instead of a muffler I'd say get a cat-back system.
There're all pretty good. I have Borla now and I'm tired of it, and it's heavy (like most of them). I think the Loudmouth is a pretty good price and it flows great.
The cat-back I'm going to try next is a Loudmouth with a Borla XR-1 muffler in place of the Loudmouth's "resonator", and have a cut-out before the Borla XR-1 muffler.

Re: just got my 2001 SS!!!!!!! Ok, guys... I wanna piggyback on Jeremy's post. I have a '02 WS6, and they come with a 3" exhaust already... it's not loud enough for me. I want quality loud, though, not just obnoxiously loud. Would you recommend the same mufflers?
I am eventually going with LT's and an ORP, but that's not for a while!
