Default 02 Firehawk?

I have just bought a 2002 Firehawk. In the course of learning about them, I am finding that some of the bolt on parts that I wanted to buy are already on the car from the factory (SLP lid, partial exaust). I know that they are rated at 345hp, which seems steep to me, but if anyone knows what the differences are between it and a stock ram air, I would love to know. Don't want to waste money on parts I already have.

The Firehawk does have 345hp with the lid and exhaust you are talking about. That is the large extent of the mods though and the other engine/power related parts are the same as a WS6.

345hp is the rating for the SLP optioned lid and dual-dual exhaust(and/or center mount exhaust on SS's) and that 345hp rating is about right. I've seen a 01' WS6 with just a lid and Borla put down 333rwhp. Thats about 378 flywheel hp.

Not to many differences between the WS6 and the Firehawk. If you have the Bilstein or 1LE suspension option you don't need to worry about springs and shocks. You might need lower control arms and a panhard rod if you have wheel hop.

I see you have a M6 like me. Prolly the next thing to get would be a B&M Ripper or a Pro 5.0 shifter. The Hurst sucks bigtime, IMHO.
Maybe get a cut-out with a QTEC or McCord electric gate to open/close the cut-out. I think they both sell them gates with the cut-out's.

Happy modding!

Peace,
Craig.

I would get 3 things. lower control arms will help control wheel hop and help save your rear end. A rear end girdle for the same reason. Also a good shifter....the stocker is kinda sloppy and really increases your chances of a missed shift which bends pushrods...shiftforks etc. Enjoy the car!!

If you have the 345hp package, your engine is under rated. GM is known for underrating the hp of their engines. You most likely have 375-380hp at the flywheel.

When I dynoed my 2000 SS (stock A4), it pulled 318rwhp, which equated to 376fwhp. I have a dyno coming up this weekend, so I will let you know what my '02 WS6 M6 does in stock condition.
