Default Sheet Metal intake

My friend got me a Sheet Metal intake for an LS1 for my birthday. I know my car doesn't need it cause it's bone stock with a few bolt on's, but I'm going to put it on because I think it will look cool as ****. My question is, will this hurt or help performance. If it helps, how much will it help. Also, how much do these intakes usually cost? This one comes with the fuel rails and T/B.

Yea, they're cool as ****. They flow as good or better than anything else will, that's why you see a lot of heavily modded cars run them. The major drawback to them is that they tend to get hot after extended driving so try and keep things away from it.

Just remember, if you want to trade it for a nice LS6 intake, let me know .

To be honest, on a stock setup, you stand to lose some low end torque because of the larger volume, shorter runners. Your stock motor isnt going to flow enough to make up the difference on the top end. Can we atleast see the intake? Pics Please!

Pics of the intake? and what year is ur car? a sheet metal intake is way overkill, but it does have the super bling aspect to it. also, how are you goin to run the fuel rail crossover?
