new coil pack brackets...confused..HELP I have got by new coil pack brackets...and everything looks great and all.
But what actually holds down the coils?
I see where the actual brackets get bolted down...but the holes in the bracket that I would assume hold the coils down....are not threaded.
Do I have to get a nut and a bolt for each hole? how is it set up originally?
That is the only way I can see that would work without a threaded hole.

You can get a drill bit and tap them out. Check what size the stock bolts are, then go look for a tap. The tap should tell you what size to drill to. Make sure you use plenty of oil when you're tapping and go SLOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW.
Where did you get the brackets from? How much were they? Do you have a part number for them? I'll be needing some in a few months.

WHAT ? they arent pre-threaded? thats GAY !! I just ordered some from a local GM dealer for 12 bucks . They are suppose to be in tommorow. That sux. Thats gonna take forever, there are 16 holes

What about a very coarse thread...basically a self tapping thread?
would that work? seems like it would...and would be easy

For anyone that is interested...I used some self tapping bolts and they worked great. They held the torque no problem.
Thought I would let you guys know in case someone didnt have the means or didnt feel like tapping all the threads. This is an easier and faster alternative.
