I was shooting pool at the local pool haul yesterday and when I was ready to leave it started pouring rain,I mean pouring.Ive driven through heavy rain plenty of times without incident but the roads everywhere were flooding very quickly and I have the FastToys ram air so I decided since I didnt have the block-off plate with me to open up the stock air inlet to try to minimize vacuum.I left the pool haul,went one way,flooded,tried another way,flooded,so I took the best possible route crusing very slowly behind another car.Well,the car in front of me stalled and I knew if I stopped Id stall too,so I tried turning into a parking lot to avoid the car but when I did the car just died.I tried to crank her over and it made that starter sound.I wated out the rain till it was bearable the popped the hood checked the filter,drenched,looked inside the throttle body and I could see a puddle in the intake.Luckily the parking lot I pulled into was a repair shop with a taxi stand next door.The guy in the shop was really cool and helped by using an air hose to try to get as much water out of the intake as possible.After we did that we dried off mass air and tried to crank it over and it still made that starter sound.I said f@ck it and told the shop guy Ill be back today with a starter and fresh battery.Then I got a taxi ride home.Ihave to work all day today so wont know nothing till tommorow.Im not trying to bash any product but if you have the FTRA make sure you carry the block-off plate and screws with you.Im just hoping nothing else is messed up.I chalk it up to lesson learned and when I get the car running you better believe the ram air is coming off,IMO it just aint worth for a daily driver.Well,wish me luck and Ill keep you guys posted <img border="0" alt="[Banging Head]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_banghead.gif" />

dude, be sure and pull all the plugs before you try and start it again! you'll blow head gaskets, valves, heads, pisions, rods, main bearings ect.. if you dont. im sure you know but water dosent compress. that sucks bro good luck.

 

Damn, that sucks (no pun intended!). Plus one for Ram air! Perhaps FastToys should make a Snorkel adapter that clamps on to the bottom <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />

In all seriousness though, listen to Vents, pull the plugs before attempting to crank it anymore, it will probably save your motor.

 

Yeah,I plan on pulling plugs and changing the oil and filter,should I replace the plugs,I just got done replacing my tr6's and put some of that expensive Royal Purple oil in it <img border="0" title="" alt="[Mad]" src="gr_images/icons/mad.gif" />

 

pull the plugs and turn it over first If you dont you will bend a rod...been there/done that
