Yes you must set it to 4 cylinder mode. It is due to the pulse the computer uses for its tach signal.

Harlan shift light ??

Please help me make sure I understand the install instructions for the harlan shift light, as there is conflicting/omitted information on installuniversity.com.

The instructions that came with my light indicate I should set the dip switches on light to 4cyl. mode (I have a 2001 Z28). Is this correct? I see no mention of this on installuniversity.com.

Iwill be mounting the light in the defroster vent on the A-pillar. Any tips you may have would be appreciated.
