Default True Dual

Allright Im getting ready to go true dual exhaust. Does anyone have true dual set up? If so, have you noticed any performance gains. I plan on going with Edelbrock Victor Series Long Tubes w/ straight bars into 40 Series Flowmasters. Would this be a good set up?

I would actually suggest doing the single chamber delta force mufflers from Flowmaster, they will sound a lot better than the 40 series IMO

One chambers get my vote, however I haven't actually heard any of the 40 series mufflers on a LS1. I was actually thinking of trying it one of these days. I've done the TD's with 1-chambers before and they were perfect sounding, just really loud. I'd run a X-pipe, or at least a H-pipe before the mufflers as well.

I would have to agree, but I'm biased! I would also run a x-pipe or h-pipe though.

no, theres not much to those mufflers but a v-shaped baffle on the inside.
Theyre only like 6" long. 1-chamber specs

Nope, the regular crossflow design (for the stock location single in dual out mufflers) have a real crappy design. These are nothing like them, and they sound a lot better

I too will be changing to the Flowmaster single chambers on my duals. I had Sweet Thunders first, but it was just loud, didn't have any real tone to it, but at least the rasp was gone. I then put some Flowtech Raptors on it, only because I wanted it to be quiet for a while, and I got them both for like 25 bucks. The Flowmasters are about 80 bucks each, but they will be well worth it with how good they sound

stupid question, but im pretty knew to the idea of true duals. Here it goes, can i go stock headers and possibly just get an x-pipe or h-pipe into 1 chambers and run them all the way? or do i need to upgrade my entire exhaust all the way to the headers and down to achieve true duals? note: as of now im not looking for lots of hp, but i am just looking for the aggressive sound. Let me know. thanks

I have true duals that dump before the axle and I love the sound accelerating, but I don't care for the rasp on decel. The flowmaster one chamber get rid of most of that? If so I am there. Loud is good LOL. How about the flowmaster drown, is it real bad with these on true duals?

I don't understand...? Are you planning on running true "true duals"? Meaning that you will have no cross-over at all?

I COMPLETELY agree with what you said about the Sweet Thunders, they don't seem to have a definition in the tone at all, just loud deepness. I thought I was the only one who thought that! THe sound clips of Sweet Thunders make them sound great, but once I heard them in person on on TD LS1, I wasn't thrilled. Alot of people are IN LOVE with those Sweet Thunders though... to each his own.
