Mandrel Bends
1.) Do mandrel bends make that much more of a deference over non-mandrel bends in HP?
2.) I have mac headers & ORYP; If I had it flow straight trough the y-pipe to the I-pipe and out of the exhaust pipes in the back w/ out a muffler of any sort (straight pipes) will I lose HP?
Any help what so ever would be GREAT! Thanks.
Jeff
Good luck
Dave
Mandrel bends make all the difference in the world. The stock system is mandrel bent 2.75" and will way outflow a 3" non-mandrel system. A 2.5" mandrel will keep up with, if not outflow the 3" non-mandrel. It really is a big difference.
Good luck

For example:
Borla flows around 900 cfm
Magnaflow flows 1100 cfm
Flowmaster flows around 350 cfm in the crossflow design
DynoMax bullets (24222 & 24219) flow 2200+ cfm
You can see the performance mufflers vary greatly.
Good luck

Yeah, I'm just talking pipes. When you get into mufflers it's a whole different ball game. They all flow different amounts.
For example:
Borla flows around 900 cfm
Magnaflow flows 1100 cfm
Flowmaster flows around 350 cfm in the crossflow design
DynoMax bullets (24222 & 24219) flow 2200+ cfm
You can see the performance mufflers vary greatly.

I would probably run a Dynomax Bullet... in fact, I am running one, but that's another story. For what you want to do, I would use a bullet... it would increase the quality of your sound and drop your interior resonance.

Yea, I am running a bullet, but if i take it out would i squeeze in a few horsies? thanks
