Default flowtech cutout

i am looking for cutouts for my 98 ls1 ta....on thunderracing they have a 3" cutout and 3.5" cutout...does that mean the size of the pipe letting the exhaust out or the pipe that connects to the intermediate pipe?....i want to run straight mac headers with oryp and a cutout...it will b loud but will sound mean..i need to know if the 3.5 cutout is that much different/louder/perforamnce than the 3"...thanks

I'm pretty sure the 3" means the part of the cutout that connects to the Intermediate Pipe, not the flange on the cutout.

3" and 3.5" is the diameter of the pipe. Unless you have a special 3.5" intermediate pipe (custom), you will need a 3" cutout.
